After graduation I went to the University of Idaho for two years. I met my husband there and we were married in 1974. Jim was in the Navy from 1973 - 1977. We lived in Alameda and Oceanside, California. In 1977, we moved to San Diego. Jim left the Navy and got his masters at San Diego State University. We both worked for the federal government in accounting at the Defense Finance and Accounting Service.
We have two daughters. Keri is 29, and lives on Long Island. She graduated from San Jose State in 2004. Keri works with her boyfriend at his solar/wind power company. They are engaged and planning their wedding for next year. Kristen is 25 and lives in San Diego. She graduated from Cal State San Marcos in 2009 and works with three year old autistic children at an elementary school.
Jim retired as the Comptroller for Commander, Naval Base San Diego in 2005. He got a teaching certificate for California middle schools and taught 7th grade English for 1 year. He worked with special needs children for 4 more years and finally retired in June. I retired as a Systems Administrator in 2008 when our accounting office in San Diego closed.
We moved to Beaumont, California in July 2009. It's a small community. The elevation here is 2600 feet. We are 17 miles east of Redlands and 20 miles west of Palm Springs. It gets fairly warm here in the summer (90s - 100+) and we occasionally get snow in the winter. We have made new friends here and are happy being retired. Jim and I both have hobbies that keep us busy. He loves to fish and I am still quilting. We hope to be able to travel in the future.
Unfortunately we won't be able to attend the reunion, as we had previously planned to visit our daughter in New York on July 26th.
