60th Birthday Celebration - Saturday, September 28, 2013

To celebrate that many of us are turning "60" in 2013, we are having a weekend of events to celebrate with our classmates. We will start on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Eagle Island State Park - West Shelter.  You can purchase food at the park or bring your own picnic and beverages.  Be sure to bring your own plates, utensils, cups, etc.  We will be getting an alcohol permit for the parks but often can't bring glass bottles.  We will supply plastic cups and ice for the event.

We will have some group activities and a fishing competition throughout the afternoon so if interested bring your fishing equipment.  The fishing competition winner will be announced at 6:00 pm.

We will celebrate with a 60th birthday cake at this event mid-afternoon!

Welcome to Eagle Island State Park

60th Birthday Celebration - Sunday, September 29, 2013

This event starts at the Hungry Onion Drive-In where you can eat and then "cruise" down Main Street in your vehicle of choice - older models, motorcycles, convertibles, etc.

The Hungry Onion Drive-In has been a fixture in Meridian for more than 50 years. 1960s type drive-up service (there are a few picnic tables too, but no inside seating). Great burgers, even better onion rings!!! One of the oldest burger joints in Meridian, this place has stood the test of time and has the taste to prove it. Try it out and enjoy the feel of an old drive in.

We will cruise to Tulley Park - Small Shelter and spend time visiting with one another. Bring your own beverages.    We will be getting an alcohol permit for the park but you can't bring glass bottles.  We will supply plastic cups and ice for the event.

No registration is necessary. Please come celebrate with classmates the big 60!
